We work with your needs to make your project great, within your budget.

This is an important policy. It outlines your rights and responsibilities in regards participating in a History Helper event.

Scheduled Walking/Bus Tours

Tour fees must be fully paid at time of booking.

If you have to cancel your booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 7 days in advance – Full refund
  • 3-7 days in advance – 50% refund
  • Within 72 hours of tour starting – no refund
  • You may substitute an attendee up to 24 hours before the tour start at no cost
  • Transfers to later tour accepted at any time at no cost and dependent on availability; however, if you transfer and then cancel again, even if it is more than 7 days in advance, there is no refund.

If History Helper is forced to cancel a tour:

  • Any payments (other than third party booking fees) will be fully refunded; OR
  • Attendees may transfer to another tour at no cost and booking will be treated as a new booking in terms of cancellation timeline above.

The above conditions apply to both individual and group bookings on scheduled tours.

Private Walking Tours

Bookings and dates are not confirmed until 50% deposit is received.

Full payment is required 7 days before tour start date. If not received, booking will be unconfirmed until payment made.

All private bookings must nominate a booking co-ordinator, and all communication must occur through that person.

A maximum of 10 people can be accommodated in a walking group. If your group is larger, we may be able to accommodate it by splitting into two groups with slightly different itineraries.

If you have to cancel your private booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 30 days in advance – refund minus 5% of total tour fee
  • 15-30 days in advance – refund minus 20% of total tour fee
  • 7-14 days in advance – refund minus 50% total tour fee (the deposit)
  • Less than 7 days in advance – no refund. Tour may be rebooked at with full payment of tour fee and subject to availability. Further cancellation will result in no refund.

All changes and requests for cancellation must be received in writing.

If History Helper is forced to cancel a tour:

  • Any payments (other than third party booking fees) will be fully refunded; OR
  • Attendees may transfer to another tour at no cost and booking will be treated as a new booking in terms of cancellation timeline above.

Private Bus/Car Tours

Bookings and dates are not confirmed until 50% deposit is received.

Full payment is required 7 days before tour start date. If not received, booking will be unconfirmed until payment made.

All private bookings must nominate a booking co-ordinator, and all communication must occur through that person.

As we must confirm a vehicle to fit all attendees and guides, we will confirm with the nominated booking co-ordinator total available seats 14 days prior to the tour. This may mean that the vehicle has more seats than required. Organisers may add more attendees to the tour, to the maximum vehicle capacity, up to 2 days prior to the event as long as accommodation is not required.

If you have to cancel your private booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 30 days in advance – refund minus 5% of total tour fee
  • 15-30 days in advance – refund minus 20% of total tour fee
  • 7-14 days in advance – refund minus 50% total tour fee (the deposit)
  • Less than 7 days in advance – no refund. Tour may be rebooked at with full payment of tour fee and subject to availability. Further cancellation will result in no refund.

All changes and requests for cancellation must be received in writing.

If History Helper is forced to cancel a tour:

Course fees must be fully paid at time of booking.

If you have to cancel your booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 7 days in advance – Full refund
  • 3-7 days in advance – 50% refund

  • You may substitute an attendee up to 24 hours before the course start at no cost
  • Transfers to later course accepted at any time at no cost and dependent on availability; however, if you transfer and then cancel again, even if it is more than 7 days in advance, there is no refund.

If History Helper is forced to cancel a tour:

  • Any payments (other than third party booking fees) will be fully refunded; OR
  • Attendees may transfer to another course at no cost and booking will be treated as a new booking in terms of cancellation timeline above.

The above conditions apply to both individual and group bookings on scheduled course.

Private Courses

Bookings and dates are not confirmed until 50% deposit is received.

Full payment is required 7 days before tour start date. If not received, booking will be unconfirmed until payment made.

All private bookings must nominate a booking co-ordinator, and all communication must occur through that person.

A maximum of 12 people can be accommodated in a course. If your group is larger, multiple courses must be organised.

If you have to cancel your private booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 30 days in advance – refund minus 5% of course tour fee
  • 15-30 days in advance – refund minus 20% of course tour fee
  • 7-14 days in advance – refund minus 50% total course fee (the deposit)
  • Less than 7 days in advance – no refund. Course may be rebooked at with full payment of course fee and subject to availability. Further cancellation will result in no refund.
  • Any incurred costs associated with, but limited to, equipment, travel and venue supply for the course that exceed the 50% deposit, will be on charged to the client.

All changes and requests for cancellation must be received in writing.

If History Helper is forced to cancel a course:

  • Any payments will be fully refunded; OR
  • A new course date may be chosen at no cost and the booking will be treated as a new booking in terms of cancellation timeline above.

Other Scheduled Events

Event fees must be fully paid in line with event specific conditions.

If you have to cancel your booking, the following notification conditions apply:

  • More than 14 days in advance – Full refund
  • 7-14 days in advance – 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days in advance – no refund
  • You may substitute an attendee up to 24 hours before the event starts at no cost.

If History Helper is forced to cancel an event:

  • Any payments (other than third party booking fees) will be fully refunded

The above conditions apply to both individual and group bookings for scheduled events.

Other Private Events

Bookings and dates are not confirmed until 50% deposit is received.

  • A new event date may be chosen at no cost, subject to availability, and the booking will be treated as a new booking in terms of cancellation timeline above.

General

History Helper events operate in all weather, but we reserve the right to alter or amend an itinerary if circumstances require.

Alcohol must not be consumed on tour vehicles or while walking.

Behaviour that may impact on the safety or comfort of other event attendees will not be tolerated and will result in the offender being removed from the event or, in the case of potentially criminal actions, reported to the police. In the case of bus/car tours, this may require the offender to be transported home at their own cost.

History Helper will not tolerate any form of harassment from or towards attendees or presenters.

Smoking at History Helper events is not permitted except in designated smoking areas.
